University-specific Scholarships
Numerous Canadian universities offer scholarships specifically for their programs. The University of Toronto International Students Scholarship is an initiative targeting top-tier international candidates pursuing undergraduate studies.
External Scholarships
Organisations outside the academic domain often fund scholarships. The Canadian Rhodes Scholars Foundation, for example, grants scholarships to outstanding students furthering postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford.
Province-specific Scholarships
Different provinces in Canada have their own scholarship schemes. The Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program, for instance, supports master's and doctoral studies within the province, focusing on research excellence.
Field-specific Scholarships
Catering to students in specific disciplines, these scholarships provide targeted support. An example is the Canadian Journalists for Free Expression Scholarship, aimed at students displaying a keen interest in journalism, particularly those focusing on human rights and freedom of expression.
Leadership-based Scholarships
Recognising more than just academic achievements, these scholarships celebrate students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities. The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation Scholarship is an example that values leadership potential alongside academic excellence.
